A simple online search of the word relink, gives its meaning as ‘to connect or join again.’ It, therefore, follows that the act of linking, joining, or connecting something again, after it’s lost the initial ‘connection’, is essentially what it means, to relink. This is actually better explained by the Cambridge Dictionary, which defines it as ‘to make a connection again between two or more people, things or ideas, after a time when they were connected.’ When a connection that was previously broken gets restored, it means that that connection has been relinked.
