Following the successful Warriors for Good Awards nomination process between November 8, 2024, and December 23, 2024, we proudly present the accomplished individuals who will serve on our jury panel to select the final awardees. They will lend their expertise, vision, and thoughtful evaluation to the crucial exercise. The jury for the inaugural Warriors for Good Awards includes distinguished leaders, innovators, and changemakers who bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to this process. Each jury member has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to fostering positive change, making them uniquely equipped to evaluate the inspiring impact stories and transformative efforts of the award nominees.
Meet the Jury:
June Omune
June is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with over seven years of experience in law and development. She is passionate about advancing disability inclusion, children’s rights in education, and the empowerment of women and girls.
In her current role, June oversees grant writing, business development, donor relations, partnerships, and resource mobilization for educational initiatives, including Edtech. She is committed to harnessing AI tools to enhance learning outcomes and accessibility. Her dedication to equity and social justice drives her efforts to ensure that vulnerable communities fully realize their social and economic rights through innovative solutions.
June adopts a proactive approach to human rights practices, advocating for initiatives that empower marginalized groups and promote inclusive development.
Noah Kipkoech
Noah is an accomplished Operations Management leader with hands-on experience in Financial Management, Human Resources Management, Grants Management, Administration, Project Management, and Information Systems Management.
Noah has proven experience in capacity building and training in various themes e.g. Business Process Re-engineering, Operations Management, Financial Management, Project Management, Compliance, and Entrepreneurship. He is passionate about Entrepreneurship, Youth Empowerment, Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE), and Creating Value through Information Systems.
Over the years, he has honed his skills in fundraising and partnership development, delivering impactful solutions and building strategic alliances that drive sustainable growth.
Noah is always eager to collaborate on transformative projects that align with his passion for innovation and development.
Pamela Kiambi
Pamela Kiambi is a dedicated youth leader and passionate environmental advocate with extensive experience in youth advocacy and sustainable development. A proud member of the Kenya Girl Guides Association, she is actively involved in the Association’s Young Leader branch, where she continues to inspire and guide the next generation of leaders.
Currently, Pamela serves with the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS), the world’s largest voluntary movement dedicated to empowering girls and young women across 153 countries. She leads transformative initiatives through the Youth and United Nations Global Alliance (YUNGA) Challenge badges, including the Plastic Tide Turners Challenge (PTTC) badge.
In addition to her work with WAGGGS, she is the founder of Tujikuze Initiative, where she leads community-based projects that promote gender equity, youth empowerment, and environmental sustainability. Driven by a deep commitment to social change, Pamela champions sustainable leadership, empowerment, and advocacy for a more equitable and sustainable world.
Elikana (Erick) Nyakango
Elikana (Erick) Nyakango is a healthcare management consultant with 7+ years of experience in healthcare. He holds a Master of Health Administration from the Metropolitan State University (MSU), Colorado, USA.
Elikana works with the Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) in Colorado, USA. He is the visionary founder and the Executive Director of the Mwananchi Healthcare Watch Initiative, a health and healthcare advocacy group. Elikana passionately advocates for accessible, affordable, and quality healthcare for all.
Michael Otieno Okello
Michael Otieno Okello is an Advocate of the High Court with an interest in IP, sustainability, technology, and global law. He holds an MSc ( Sustainable Urban Development), B. A (land economics), LLB degree from the University of Nairobi, and Several Post Graduate Diplomas from the Kenya School of Law and Institution of Surveyors of Kenya. He has worked in the energy and real estate sectors for over 13 years.
He is an accredited law professional, and a member of several regional and international professional associations in the areas of law, real property, and climate change leadership. He has also served as a leader at KenGen, University of Nairobi – Faculty of Law, Department of Real Estate, Faculty of Science and Technology as well as the Institution of Surveyors of Kenya. He is passionate about global law and policy for transformational leadership and change.
Mike is also an author and his debut book “Living a Fruitful Life”, has sold over 900 copies since 2022.
Liliosa Mbirimi
Liliosa Mbirimi is a visionary social impact strategist with over 15 years of experience at the intersection of technology, community development, and entrepreneurship. With expertise in designing and executing transformative programs, she is dedicated to empowering marginalized communities, particularly youth and women, to break cycles of poverty.
Liliosa has held leadership roles in renowned organizations like the Leila Janah Foundation and Sama AI, where she spearheaded initiatives in impact measurement, seed funding, and mentorship. She is also a catalyst of the Women’s Impact Alliance. Her innovative approach has driven measurable outcomes, such as increasing venture funding tenfold and launching programs that foster resilience and digital literacy for refugees.
A skilled leader in change management and strategic partnerships, Liliosa has worked extensively in Sub-Saharan Africa to align community-driven solutions with global goals. She has championed equitable access to education, technology, and mental health services, combining data-driven insights with a human-centered approach.
As a thought leader, she has published widely on topics like AI for social good, gender equity, and sustainable livelihoods. Her passion for fostering equity, grit, and collaboration aligns with her unwavering belief that every day is an opportunity to change lives.
Through her dynamic leadership and commitment to driving systemic change, Liliosa continues to empower communities and create innovative pathways for social and economic transformation.
Irene Achieng
Irene Achieng is a researcher in the field of international business, particularly focusing on digital platforms and emerging markets. Currently, she is a PhD candidate at the School of Business and Economics, Linnaeus University, Sweden.
Irene is also interested in digital transformation and its innovative integration. Her educational background includes an MSc in International Business Strategy, an MBA in Finance, and a BCom in Finance. Her extensive professional experience spans various roles within finance, accounting, and human resources management, acquired through corporate positions held in both Sweden and Kenya.
Crispus Kinyua
Crispus Kinyua is a passionate advocate for food justice, nutrition equity, and sustainable food systems. With a deep commitment to improving access to nutritious, culturally appropriate meals, Crispus works to address systemic gaps in food and healthcare systems. His efforts focus on ensuring that all individuals, especially those in vulnerable circumstances, receive the nutrition they need to thrive and recover. As an expert in nutrition and public health, Crispus is dedicated to advancing sustainable practices that enhance food security and promote healthier communities. He empowers individuals and organizations through education, capacity-building, and advocacy, equipping them with the knowledge and tools to create lasting change in food systems.
Crispus also engages with policymakers, civil society, and other stakeholders to champion reforms that align with the principles of food justice. By connecting grassroots efforts to systemic change, he drives initiatives that address pressing issues like malnutrition, non-communicable diseases, and food insecurity while promoting the fundamental right to nutritious food.
Through his work, Crispus envisions a future where equitable, sustainable food systems contribute to a healthier, more just society—transforming lives, one meal at a time.
Waihiga K. Muturi
Waihiga K. Muturi is a distinguished Global Innovation Strategist, Communications expert, and Social Impact Architect with over 15 years of experience driving transformative change across regions in Africa, MENA, and beyond. Renowned for his ability to craft compelling narratives that resonate with diverse audiences, her leverages strategic communications, media, PR, advocacy, and stakeholder engagement to mobilize resources for underserved populations. He has successfully led multimillion-dollar programs, fostering partnerships across public, private, and non-profit sectors to address critical social issues.
With a proven track record in program development and management, Waihiga has enhanced organizational outreach and visibility for over 321 partners globally. He is adept at building cohesive teams and networks, driving collaboration that amplifies impact and promotes sustainable development. His holistic approach encompasses strategic planning, capacity building, and performance monitoring, ensuring that initiatives are scalable, inclusive, and sustainable.
Waihiga’s commitment to social justice and impact is evident in his advocacy for community equity, grassroots participation, and human-centered solutions that empower marginalized and underserved communities.
As an accredited mediator and trainer, he champions the decolonization of narratives surrounding African development while addressing pressing issues such as gender equality, climate change, philanthropy, and grassroots policy advocacy. His work embodies a dedication to turning passionate ideas into actionable solutions that create lasting social impact.
The Judging Process:
The nominees‘ assessment and review process is thorough and multi-faceted, incorporating several stages of evaluation to guarantee fairness and transparency. Our esteemed panel of judges is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of integrity throughout the awards process by meticulously analyzing each submission. This approach ensures the recognition of individuals and organizations whose work exemplifies innovation, sustainability, strategic vision and leadership, scalability, and transformative impact.
Nominees will be judged on: impact metrics, innovation/uniqueness of their initiatives, best practices, investment in organizational leadership, and the ability of their initiatives to inspire sustainable change. Impact metrics will include aspects such as the number of individuals served, Quality of service improvement, Increase in beneficiary satisfaction, Access to resources, and so on.
The scoring will be done as follows:
- (5%) Category fit.
- (20%) Strategies, Objectives, Sustainability vision, and statement.
- (40%) Impacts, Effectiveness, excellence/quality of the product/service provided, innovative practices, Continuity, and consistency in performance.
- (35%) Performance and Leadership, value, ethical standards
A maximum of 5 (7 in some categories) nominees will be shortlisted in each category/sub-category, and the winners will receive a Gold, Silver, Bronze, and finalist recognition and honor. Shortlisted nominees will be notified and invited to the award-giving ceremony. All winners will be announced at the glamorous Warriors for Good Awards Gala Dinner and Ceremony.
